Who benefits the most?
Nũro is for anyone who sometimes needs fewer sensory distractions. The greatest benefit is for people who easily become overwhelmed by noise, light or busy environments, including people with autism, acquired brain injury or PTSD, as well as travellers, commuters, students and professionals.
Does it really work?
Yes. We sent our hoodie to PEUTZ, an independent acoustic laboratory in Mook (NL) and the first in the Netherlands accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. The result: 12 dB noise reduction around 4 kHz.
What does 12 dB less feel like?
A 10 dB reduction is perceived as roughly half as loud. A blender at 88 dB next to you starts to feel like a vacuum cleaner in the next room (76 dB). You still hear the world, just softer, right where it hurts most.
Why 4 kHz specifically?
The human ear is especially sensitive between 2,000 and 5,000 Hz: the range of warning signals and sudden alerts. That's why some sounds feel sharp and piercing. Sometimes it's not the volume that overwhelms you, it's the frequency.
What's the difference between the Hoodie 1.0 and 2.0?
Same foundation, more control. The 2.0 adds an adjustable cord on the visor, a front collar overlap and an even softer, heavier 320 g fabric.
