Nũro is for anyone who sometimes needs fewer sensory distractions. The greatest benefit is for people who can easily become overwhelmed by noise, light, or busy environments.
This includes people with autism, acquired brain injury or PTSD, as well as travellers, commuters, students and professionals who want to create a calmer environment around themselves, concentrate more easily, or simply take a moment to reset.
The Nũro Hoodie helps dampen surrounding noise while also reducing exposure to bright light and peripheral visual stimuli. Its oversized hood creates a personal, calming cocoon — without the need for headphones or other noticeable sensory aids.

What's the difference between the Nũro Hoodie 1.0 and Nũro Hoodie 2.0? +
The foundation is the same.
Both the Nũro Hoodie 1.0 and 2.0 are designed around the same idea: helping reduce sensory overload by dampening sound and reducing visual stimulation.
So what has changed?
The 2.0 is a refined version of the original.
The biggest update is the visor. The 2.0 visor has an additional adjustable cord, giving you more control over how much of your surroundings you see. You can tighten it when you want to reduce visual input even further, or loosen it when you want a wider view.
We've also made the 2.0 from an even softer fabric, making the hoodie more comfortable to wear, especially during longer periods of use.

The Nũro Hoodie 2.0 builds on what worked in the 1.0 and gives you a little more control over your sensory environment.
Does it really work? +
Yes. And we didn't want to simply say that ourselves.
We sent our hoodie to PEUTZ, an independent acoustic laboratory in Mook, the Netherlands, and the first acoustic laboratory in the Netherlands accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. PEUTZ performs qualified acoustic measurements on materials and constructions using standardized testing methods.
The Nũro Hoodie was acoustically tested there.
The result: 12 dB of noise reduction around 4 kHz. This is a frequency range where sound can be experienced as particularly sharp or irritating. Nũro also reports this measured result on its website as -12 dB @ 4 kHz.
What does 12dB less feel like? +
Here’s the key:
A 10 dB reduction is perceived as roughly half as loud. So a 12 dB reduction is even more noticeable.
Put simply: if a sound felt like a 10, it can feel closer to a 4.
Here’s another way to picture it.
Without the Nũro Wear hood:
A blender running at full speed right next to you, around 88 dB.
With the Nũro Wear hood:
That same sound is reduced to around 76 dB, closer to the experience of a vacuum cleaner in the next room.
You haven't gone deaf to the world.
You can still hear what's happening around you. You simply experience less of the intensity.
And that's the point.
The world doesn't disappear.
It just gets considerably softer. Right where it hurts most.
Why 4kHz specifically? +
Why 4 kHz specifically?
This is one of the most important parts of the story.
The human ear is particularly sensitive to frequencies between 2,000 and 5,000 Hz.
That sensitivity is not accidental. Our hearing evolved to pick up important signals in this range. Sounds that can demand our attention quickly, such as warning signals, distress calls and sudden alerts.
And that helps explain why some sounds aren't just loud, but feel sharp, piercing or genuinely irritating.
Many of those sounds sit right in this frequency range.
So when we designed Nũro, we didn't simply aim to make everything quieter.
We focused on an area where the human ear is especially sensitive.
Because sometimes it's not the volume that overwhelms you. It's the frequency.
And that's exactly where Nũro makes a measurable difference.
